Much has been written about the direct reasons for the surge of Hindutva in India - namely the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and more – but very few talks about the indirect reasons – local and global - which pushed India into the lap of the right. The purpose of this book is to explore those reasons and the possible psychological fallout of those on the electorate which gifted a thumping majority to the NDA back-to-back in 2014 and 2019. The root-cause discussion flows through the lanes of history, politics, technology and psychology. The discussion is based on secondary sources and all sensitive claims and comments are supported by references. Also, almost all the information made use of in this book is available in public domain. The title ‘Allergic to Saffron’ is a satirization of the brainwasher’s claim of an imaginary aversion towards the saffron philosophy of the brainwashed during the pre-Hindutva era.
